From a young age Adam proved to be a kinesthetic learner, naturally searching for answers through creating, building, and putting the pieces together. After graduating from Auburn University with a Building Science major he worked as a Project Manager in Birmingham, Alabama on an array of commercial, institutional, and retail projects. Through the exposure of various projects and experiences he saw the importance of team work, the criticalness of formulating and implementing an effective strategy, and how effective leaders can perpetuate momentum by not only solving today’s problems but by also preventing the problems of tomorrow.

Adam took a break from the construction world and everything familiar when he attended Capernwray Bible School, and later served as the Assistant Director of the Adventure Bible School in Cambridge, New Zealand. During this time of leading international students around the caves, rivers, and bush of Aotearoa (Maori name for New Zealand) Adam’s perspective of life, leadership, and purpose were transformed.

With a renewed outlook on leadership and a fresh perspective, Adam returned from New Zealand and joined a construction firm in Birmingham as a Project Manager for Southeast regional healthcare projects. Soon thereafter Adam was chosen to lead a LEED certified project which gave him great appreciation for these principles. Following that project, he decided to leave the commercial construction arena to form Thrower Building and Development. The freedom of owning his own company allowed Adam the ability to emphasize sustainable construction with which he had developed a passion over time. After several successful residential projects Thrower Building needed to find a home for themselves which led to the purchase of their current location at 2811 Crescent Avenue in Homewood and a rebranding of Ignite Properties. Adam finds satisfaction in working with tenants and enjoys being a part of the local Birmingham community growth. When he isn’t at the office or visiting a site, Adam spends time with his family and volunteers in civic and church committees.

Founder + Owner

Ignite Properties became a real estate portfolio in 2011 when the office in Homewood was purchased by owner and founder Adam Thrower.

During the process of locating, purchasing, renovating, leasing, and managing the property he saw how his construction background could be an asset to real estate and property management.
